Overview
This position supports the work of Harrison Parks & Rec, under the guidance and supervision of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patrons and staff within the Creekside Recreation Center, particularly in the aquatics area.
Qualifications
1. At least 20 years of age
2. Lifeguard Certification or be able to obtain within 30 days
3. Basic knowledge of swim instruction
4. Lifeguard Instructor Certification within one year of hire date.
5. AFO/CPO Certification within 1 year of hire date.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support hourly staff and volunteers
2. Respond to all member and community inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
3. Take Lead on the Swim Lesson Programs & Aqua Fitness Programs, build & maintain them.
4. Maintain a clean, organized and safe environment throughout all program areas including closets and other storage units.
5. Assist in hiring, scheduling, developing and evaluating aquatic staff
6. Assist in Managing cleanliness, safety and maintenance of all pool equipment and facilities.
7. Assist in training and coaching aquatic hourly staff.
8. Assist in teaching Adult Swim lessons as needed.
9. Participate in the Aquatics team hiring process.
10. Check chemicals and take readings daily in the pump room, backwash, and replace strainer baskets as needed.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities, Aquatic Coordinators will:
- Pursue/participate in ongoing training
- Attend all staff meetings and in-services
- Assist in Creekside events that are non aquatic
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform all physical demands of the position including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
