What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lateral (FAO) SR Firefighter position at City of Hardeeville?
The Senior Firefighter protects and serves the public through fire prevention activities, emergency responses to fire, EMS, hazardous materials, and technical rescue incidents.

Paid Employee Healthcare
Advanced EMT - $2,000 bonus
Paramedic - $6,000 bonus
Critical Care Paramedic - $1,000
SCFA Instructor - $1,000
- Drive emergency vehicles to calls for service
- Operate pump and/or aerial device
- Must be familiar with and able to perform all functions of on-scene emergency operations
- Perform fire suppression and rescue activities to protect life and property
- Perform other duties as required
- Maintain a valid Class “E” driver’s license or equivalent
- Minimum of two (2) years of continuous fire service.
- All requirements must have been successfully completed for the rank of Firefighter and successfully complete the following courses:
- Building Construction Awareness- 1123
- Emergency Vehicle Driver Training- 1210
- Pump Operations 1- 1220
- Aerial Operations- 1250
- Technical Rescuer- 3310
- NIMS for the Fire Service
- NREMT Certification as an EMT, AEMT, NRP
- SC Licensed as an EMT, AEMT, or NRP
