What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Aide - SAP position at City of Hampton, VA?
Function
The purpose of the class is to assist the Youth Program Leaders in planning and conducting programs, camps, and activities for children and adults. The class works according to set procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Requires high school graduation or GED.
- Experience working in the programmatic group care of children or adults is preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire.
- Must successfully pass a Child Protective Services Check and a background check related to the position before any offer of employment or promotion.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
Additional Requirements
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during city emergency situations, or at the direction of the City Manager or designee, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
