TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC WORKS
POSITION: FULL TIME/NON-EXEMPT
PAY GRADE: 9 ($18.69 - $28.41)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Performs administrative support to the Public Services Department which includes the Natural Gas, Solid Waste and Development Services divisions. Provides various reporting functions in accordance with the city’s policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. Establishes and maintains appropriate filing systems and accurately enters, retrieves, and maintains records and/or informational systems. Responds to citizens inquiries and performs customer service over the phone for utilities and services provided to citizens. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Public Services or designee.
1. Enters, retrieves and maintains departmental records.
2. Completes and submits reports to the appropriate department/agency.
3. Procures departmental supplies.
4. Provides appropriate correspondence.
5. Provides backup in other areas as needed.
6. Oversees assigned programs and assures all records are complete.
7. Performs other job-related functions as needed.

- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and other software utilized in the department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of one-year related experience.
(A comparable amount of training, education or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
A valid state of Florida driver’s license is required
DRUG TESTING: Employees in this classification will be tested for illegal drugs in accordance with the City of Gulf Breeze’s Drug Free Workplace Policy and the National Pipeline & Hazardous Material Safety Administration/DOT regulations.
