The individual in this position manages and directs the operation of the transfer and recycling stations.Essential duties include the following.
- Plans and supervises the work of assigned personnel.
- Operates a rubber tire loader to load trailers with solid waste.
- Operates a tractor-trailer to transport solid waste to landfill; unloads waste, cleans trailer, and returns to transfer station.
- Operates a baler and conveyor system.
- Loads recycling bales into a 53-foot trailer
- Maintains vehicles and equipment; performs pre- and post-trip inspections.
- Maintains transfer station building and grounds; picks up litter; cleans break room and office area.
- Operates a computerized truck scale.
- Collects fees and issues receipts.
- Enforces safety rules and regulations.
