What are the responsibilities and job description for the BUSINESS LICENSE COORDINATOR position at City Of Greer?
The City of Greer is seeking a Business License Coordinator in the Administration Department.
Responsibilities: Performs enforcement of the business license and local hospitality tax ordinances; Reviews local business licenses ensuring all licenses issued comply with City ordinances; Locates and licenses unlicensed businesses operating within City limits; conducts audits of business files and reviews businesses selected for audit; makes on-site inspections of new businesses in order to ensure all licensing procedures have been completed; Communicates with an assortment of professional persons in the course of daily routine activities including local business owners, building inspectors, contractors, attorneys, government officials, etc.; Enforces delinquent business license and hospitality tax accounts; works with the City's Code Enforcement Officer; works with the Public Safety Dispatch; Compiles letters for the mailing of renewal and delinquent applications; Determines which class a business should be categorized under using the North American Industrial Classification System and the City's Business License Ordinance; calculates the license fees for businesses based on the rate scale for their classification including declining rate scales; Issues Municipal Summons for delinquent licenses or for operating without a license and appears in court on the City's behalf.
Job Requirements: Associates degree with a concentration in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred and one to two (1-2) years’ experience in accounting, public relations or general office work. Must be able to deal effectively, courteously and professionally with the public in handling inquiries and communicating information. Must possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm; additional hours as needed
Salary: Minimum salary $46,233; dependent on experience
