GREENFIELD Operator Wastewater Specialist This position requires a 5C
Massachusetts Wastewater License. The City is offering a \$8,000 sign on
bonus. The first installment of \$4,000 will be upon completion of the
90 day probationary period, and the second installment of \$4,000 will
be disbursed upon 1 year of service at the city\'s Water Pollution
Control Facility. Technical and highly responsible work in the operation
and maintenance of a large Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP), Water
Supply & Treatment Facilities (WS&T), and water/wastewater pumping
stations. Responsible for instructing, directing, and setting up for a
group of employees in the operation of the water/wastewater facilities.
Operates water and wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and chemical
feed, pumping and disposal equipment. Five or more years of responsible
wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance experience.
Familiarity with the operation methods, materials, equipment. High
School or trade school diploma required; Associates Degree with a
concentration in environmental science or related field preferred. Shall
have completed a minimum of 20 class hours in technical courses or
workshops related to the wastewater field, engineering, water quality or
mechanical or control systems field; or a combination of education and
Experience. Overtime Hours Are Required On Alternating Weekends And
staggered holidays. Must possess valid Massachusetts Class B Operator\'s
License (CDL) with Air Brake Certification or able to obtain; HEML
Hoisting license or able to obtain. A grade 5C license from the
Massachusetts Board of Certification of Operators of Wastewater
Treatment Facilities in order to operate all city wastewater treatment
facilities. Must successfully pass CORI/ SORI checks; must have an
acceptable driving record and be insurable under city\'s policy; must
pass pre-employment physical and drug screen pursuant to the DOT
Regulations.
