Salary Range: $18.15 - $26.32 Hourly
Job Summary
The Laborer in the non-potable water division obtains daily readings from various stations, daily inspections and assists system operators with preventive maintenance. Additional duties may include performing work on pumps, valves, sprinklers, mowing grass, maintaining pump station sites and other related job duties.
This is a seasonal assignment and may work up to 40 hours per week for approximately 1,040 hours or up to 6 months, whichever occurs first.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current driver's license with good driving record (MVR and background check required)
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, lawn mowing and sprinklers
- Previous experience with pump maintenance preferred;
- Must be able to work weekends if needed.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus but not required.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions;
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations;
- Ability to work independently, along with and/or in groups.
- Ability to properly use hand and power tools to maintain facility.
- Ability to accurately input, retrieve, and verify work assignments.
- Collaboration skills, including the ability to work with others from different areas and backgrounds to reach a common goal.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with supervisors, co-workers, and general public.

- Interprets information on a computer screen and follows sequence of repair information;

- Exposure to all weather conditions;
- Exposure to various types of machinery noise, some levels to excess.
- Exposure to untreated water.
- Manual labor, prolonged standing, kneeling, bending and walking, climbing ladders and stairs;
- Bends and stoops repeatedly or continuously over long periods of time;
- Works in small and/or cramped areas;
- Make precise arm-hand position movements and maintain static balance (i.e.: using wrenches, a hammer, saw or similar tools);
- Moves heavy objects (50 lbs. or more) a long distance (20 feet or more). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis;
- Manual dexterity enough to operate hand and power tools, move objects;
- Vision enough to perform above functions, read printed instructions;
- Must be able to remain standing for long periods of time;
- Make repetitive arm-hand movements.
