Street Technician

The City of Grants is accepting applications for a Street Technician. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance and improvement of City streets, alleys, drainage systems, rights-of-way, grounds, and other City property and infrastructure.

Duties include pothole and minor roadway repairs, street and alley maintenance, drainage and culvert cleaning, vegetation control, traffic control, sign installation and maintenance, snow and ice removal, debris cleanup, and operation of vehicles, tools, and equipment. The Street Technician may also assist with emergency response, special events, and projects throughout the City.

Applicants must be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions and safely operate assigned tools and equipment. A valid driver's license is required. Applicants must successfully complete all City pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screening.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Thursday

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience in street maintenance, construction, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles, hand and power tools, and assigned equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be available to assist with emergency response, snow and ice removal, and other operational needs as required.
• Must successfully complete all City pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screening.
