Position: Grounds Maintenance / DPW Labor (Part-Time - Seasonal)
Salary and Hours: Starting rate between $15.00 and $18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications; 7:00am to 3:30pm
Description: The City of Grant is now accepting applications for part-time seasonal help with hours of approximately 32 per week within our Public Works Department.
Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the maintenance and repair of City buildings, grounds, parks and facilities. Such as grass cutting, trimming, planting/pruning, leaf/brush pickup, cleaning, painting, water meter reading, street repair, cleaning storm and sanitary sewers, cemetery burials, and various other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Eligible applicants are a minimum age of 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, working knowledge of basic lawn tools and equipment, including lawn mowers, leaf blowers, line trimmers, and various hand tools. Reliable and able to work well with supervisors, coworkers, and the public.
Conditions: The duties of this position will be predominately performed in an outdoor environment. Duties of this position will frequently require the employee to lift large amounts of weight (50lbs or less). The employee will also be required to perform manual labor for extended periods of time outside in all types of weather conditions. Applicants may be subject to a physical and random drug testing, as well as a criminal history check.
