JOB OVERVIEW
The City of Grandville (population 16,223) is seeking an experienced, organized, and dedicated public servant to serve as City Clerk. This role is responsible for overseeing the operations of the City Clerk’s Office, including records management, election administration, and related administrative functions. The City Clerk also services as a primary customer service contact for the organization and is a key liaison to the City Council, boards & commissions, and external stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, political science, business administration, or a related field preferred;
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government;
- At least one (1) year as a Clerk or Deputy Clerk, including supervisory responsibilities strongly preferred;
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Michigan Driver’s License
- Notary Public in the State of Michigan (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Certified Passport Acceptance Agent (or ability to obtain within six months)
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) and/or Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk (MiPMC) preferred
