Calculates and prepares pay estimates for contractor payment. Completes as-built process for project record retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Supervises and participates in the inspection of engineering construction projects; coordinates the work of contractors; ensures conformance with plans and specifications
- Performs drafting using AutoCAD 3-D road/utility construction plans, field survey information and as-built drawings
- Prepares estimates for labor and material costs; develops complete final design package for bidding
- Creates daily reports and other required documentation
- Performs project and permit inspection; conducts various permit reviews
- Runs profiles and cross sections; procures field data necessary for preparation of plans; establishes line and grade for construction work
- Performs related work as required
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
- Certified Construction Storm Water Operator or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Soil Erosion and Sediment Control Plan Review and Design Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Must have a valid Michigan Driver's License
