The City is currently seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Senior Code Compliance Officer!
The Code Enforcement Officer plays a key role in maintaining community standards by proactively patrolling assigned areas to identify and address code violations. This position is responsible for investigating complaints, conducting inspections of properties and sites, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations. The officer documents violations, issues citations when necessary, and prepares detailed reports while communicating findings with property owners, supervisors, and other stakeholders. In addition to fieldwork, this role includes administrative responsibilities such as responding to public inquiries, maintaining accurate records, and compiling reports. The Code Enforcement Officer may also support community outreach efforts, assist with program implementation, and, when assigned, provide guidance and training to staff in a lead capacity.
- Patrolling the City for code violations relevant to the division assigned.
- Reviewing and responding to complaints received.
- Scheduling and conducting inspections, walk-throughs, or tours of locations, sites, building or property as appropriate.
- Noting violations of code and issuing citations.
- Compiling inspection reports and notifying chain of command, owners, and others as appropriate.
- Completing administrative duties such as answering calls, providing information to the public and other departments as requested, compiling data/reports, completing relevant documents/forms; and maintaining records.
- May participate in implementation and maintenance of programs, incentives, or community education relevant to the division and role
- May report information to any Board, City Council, Departmental or other such organizations relevant to the division and public for the position assigned
- May supervise personnel functioning as a lead worker to assist in training, providing guidance, instruction, and feedback.
- All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.
Experience: Four (4) years of related experience
Licenses: Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
Salary : $51,399 - $80,841
