DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: An employee in this class monitors plans of care for developmentally disabled individuals preparing to move to or currently residing in community settings to ensure compliance with federal court requirements. Work involves providing technical assistance, performing on-site visits, recording and reporting findings, analyzing information, and making recommendations for improvement.

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in psychology, special education, nursing, sociology, speech pathology, audiology, social work, or other related acceptable field and experience equivalent to two years of full-time professional developmental disabilities program services work.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, special education, nursing, sociology, speech pathology, audiology, social work, or other related acceptable field and experience equivalent to four years of full-time professional developmental disabilities program services work.
OR

- Monitors transition plans for developmentally disabled individuals moving from developmental centers to community settings; monitors individual support plans for developmentally disabled individuals residing in community settings; performs on-site visits to assess services provided; makes determinations as to whether services provided are sufficient to meet federal court requirements.
- Gathers data needed to comply with federal court requirements.
- Calls meetings with appropriate staff members and discusses modifications which need to be made to individual support plans; follows up to ensure that modifications have been implemented; stops the implementation of plans if individuals are determined to be at risk for harm.
- Reviews transition plans and individual support plans and creates an appropriate monitoring tool for each plan.
- Provides technical assistance to community agency staff members and others in the development of policies, procedures, and individual support plans.
- Prepares detailed, technical reports which include recommendations for changes in services provided.
- Responds to and resolves deficiencies identified by court monitors.

- Leave earned in excess of the maximum allowable days will be transferred to the employee's sick leave account annually on the employee's anniversary hire date.
- Sick Leave All full-time employees accrue 1 day (7.5 hours) of sick leave per month, provided they work the major portion of that month.
