- Monitors and maintains real-time crime center IT systems, including services, networks, and specialized software.
- Issues hardware to city employees using the city standard and policies, experience setting up and applying images or software.
- Works within the City’s ITIL-based methodology to deliver, support, and integrate public safety and enterprise business technologies.
- Partners with city departments to understand operational needs, gather and document business and technical requirements, and recommend technology solutions.
- Analyzes and improves business processes, workflows, and system functionality to align with operational goals.
- Administers, supports, and maintains applications and real-time systems, including video management systems (VMS), license plate readers (LPR), and GIS platforms.
- Ensures systems are properly configured, patched, secure, and compliant with CJIS security requirements.
- Troubleshoots and resolves hardware and software issues; escalates complex problems to higher-level IT teams as needed.
- Collaborates with infrastructure, security teams, developers, vendors, and end-users to implement and support software and hardware solutions.
- Performs application installations, upgrades, integrations, and configurations to ensure system interoperability.
- Develops and executes test plans; validates system performance and alignment with business requirements.
- Creates and maintains documentation, including system configurations, procedures, user guides, and troubleshooting materials.
- Delivers training to end-users on new systems or updates; identifies training needs and prepares training content.
- Assists in coordinating and tracking technology projects, including setting meeting agendas, monitoring progress, and communicating timelines.
- Serves as technical lead when needed and supports change management activities related to system deployments or upgrades.
- Provides on-call support for critical incidents, emergencies, or major crime events affecting RTCC operations.
- Assists in evaluating and integrating new technologies or data sources into the City’s public safety or business application ecosystem.
- Formal Education/Knowledge: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with a two-year associate's degree, diploma, or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
- Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in a related field.
- Certifications and Other Requirements: Valid Driver’s License. Ability to meet the criminal background regulations mandated by the FBI CJIS Security Policy, which includes a comprehensive background investigation and polygraph examination.
- Reading: Ability to read technical instructions, technical specifications, trade magazines, responses to vendor solicitations, planning documents, policies/procedures, and documents generated by staff at a high level of comprehension.
- Math: Ability to perform math calculations at a college level including basic math, percentages, and algebra as well as formulas.
- Writing: Ability to write interoffice memos, staff presentations, issue papers, planning documents, technical instructions, technical specifications and vendor solicitation documents. Many assignments require translation of technical terms into those that can be understood by non-technical staff.

- Within 12 months, the Public Safety Applications Business Analyst will assist with a comprehensive evaluation of current public safety systems (e.g., CAD, RMS, GIS), identify and document gaps or inefficiencies, and propose enhancements that align with operational goals. They will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, oversee the implementation of at least two system upgrades or integrations, and develop process materials. Additionally, they Have to attain an ITIL certification.
