Responsibilities
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions involving construction, operation, and maintenance of City utilities:
1. Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all aspects of the water systems, including the water meter system, mains, valves, fire hydrants, reservoir/pumphouse, towers, generators, etc.
2. Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all aspects of both sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems, including mains, manholes, catch basins, lift stations, controls, generators, etc.
3. Operate or assist with the operation of the CCTV inspection equipment.
4. Operate, repair, maintain and troubleshoot SCADA system.
5. Perform customer service work order calls and maintain work records within an asset management system.
6. Locate and mark underground utilities.
7. Perform snow and ice removal from city streets, parking lots, sidewalks and trails.
8. Assist with public works maintenance responsibilities across other divisions as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid MN Commercial Class B driver’s license, with tanker and air break endorsements, or ability to obtain within 12 months of start date.
• Ability to operate computer.
• Ability to operate equipment, acquire licenses, and complete trainings required for this position.
• Ability to complete the essential duties and responsibilities of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience in construction or maintenance of a utility system, or equivalent training in a vocational or technical program.
• Experience working in other divisions of municipal Public Works (Streets, Parks, Vehicle Maintenance).
• Experience working with an asset management software program.
• Valid MDH Class D Water Operator license or higher.
• Valid MPCA Class S-D Wastewater Operator license or higher.
• Valid MN Commercial Class A driver’s license.
