Role Description: The City of Glens Falls is seeking a qualified and motivated Building Inspector to join the Building & Codes Department on a temporary basis. This position is responsible for conducting inspections of residential and multiple dwelling structures undergoing construction, repair, or alteration to ensure compliance with the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and applicable City ordinances.
- The Building Inspector performs field inspections, reviews construction activities, communicates code requirements to contractors and property owners, and assists with enforcement activities related to building, zoning, signage, and related municipal regulations. The work involves both office and field responsibilities and requires sound judgment, technical knowledge, and strong public interaction skills.
