The City of Glenn Heights is now hiring Part-Time Recreation Aides to support the needs of its Community Center and Summer Day Camp Program. This is a seasonal position, with a duration of approximately June through August.
Note: This is a Summer Seasonal position.Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions may include the following. Must possess required knowledge skills, abilities and experience and to be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Performs a variety of duties in the City of Glenn Heights & Recreation Department related to the activities and operations of the City’s Summer Day Camp Program. Works with other camp counselors to oversee youth participants’ safety and participation in activities such as games, field trips, sports, swimming, arts and crafts, and other indoor and outdoor activities
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred:
- Experience working with youth in a recreational or camp setting and/or experience assisting with recreation activities geared toward youth is preferred.

- The incumbent may perform work in an outdoor environment with exposure to hazardous and unpleasant conditions in extreme temperatures including heat, cold, temperature swings and inclement weather.
- Work requires frequent stooping, standing, walking, sitting, twisting, pulling, pushing.
- May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds of equipment multiple times per day.
