MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Issues material to mechanics; assists in loading materials as needed.
- Receives, reviews, verifies, and stocks incoming freight.
- Operates a forklift.
- Conducts inventory cycle counts and makes necessary adjustments.
- Spot-checks inventory.
- Performs data entry to record incoming and outgoing orders.
- Produces re-order reports and inputs requisitions for low stock items.
- Resolves issues and concerns within scope of responsibility and authority.
- Labels and assigns location for new items.
- Maintains warehouse, shop, and grounds.
- Performs related duties.
- Knowledge of city and departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of customer service principles.
- Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
- Skill in the operation of a forklift.

- The work consists of related warehouse and inventory control duties. The variety of materials to be inventoried contributes to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to receive and issue materials while maintaining accurate inventory records. Successful performance contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of a variety of city operations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and frequently heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and distinguishes between shades of color.
- The work is performed in a stockroom, warehouse, or outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, and machinery with moving parts. Work may require the use of protective devices such as masks, eye protection, gloves, hard-toe shoes, etc.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to three years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class C driver’s license issued by the State of Wyoming with forklift certification issued by the City of Gillette
