- Conducts fields inspections to identify violations of City code and ordinances; prepares written inspection reports; issues warnings and citations; conducts re-inspections to determine if issues are resolved.
- Collects photographic evidence of inspection results.
- Maintains case files and records.
- Receives and responds to complaints from the general public related to violations.
- Answers inquiries and provides information to the general public regarding planning and zoning regulations and policies.
- Coordinates property abatements; posts abatement notices; hires contractors to complete abatement; processes related billing.
- Provides assistance to planning staff as needed.
- Issues home occupation permits.
- Attends Municipal Court as required.
- Completes a variety of regular and special reports.
- Performs related duties.
- Knowledge of code enforcement principles and practices.
- Knowledge of appeals policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of relevant City codes and ordinances.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.

- Contacts are typically with co-workers, other City employees, property owners, law enforcement personnel, and members of the general public.
- Contacts are typically to give or exchange information, resolve problems, and negotiate, defend, or settle matters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects and distinguishes between shades of color.
- The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to dust, dirt and grease.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to a high school diploma or GED.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Wyoming for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
