Division: Parks Department
Status: Full-Time
Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operation of varied maintenance and landscaping at the City’s Parks and ground areas.
- Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors, dusts furniture, washes windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms, and fixtures.
- Maintains, replenishes, and issues cleaning and related supplies and equipment.
- Vacuum and maintain all floors of the City Park buildings.
- Sweeps sidewalks, shovels snow from walks.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor pavilions.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Assignments may be given in detail for each job or may follow an established routine.
- Work is subject to review for quality and quantity.
- All other duties included.
Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent required. A valid Driver’s license. The ability to multitask. Able to establish effective working relationships while treating members of the public, fellow City of Gary employees, and representatives of outside agencies with courtesy and respect.
Salary: Yearly $31,200
