Job Overview
The City of Gardner is seeking a full-time (37 hours per week) qualified Inspector of Wires to conduct electrical inspections and enforce the National Electrical Code and Massachusetts State Building Code. This is a temporary position with an undetermined duration, based on operational needs.
Duties
- Perform electrical inspections (rough, partial, and final)
- Review and issue permits; maintain inspection records
- Investigate complaints and enforce code compliance
- Interpret electrical code requirements for contractors and the public
- Coordinate with utility companies and City/state departments
- Respond to emergency calls as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma and at least five (5) years of electrical experience, or equivalent
- Massachusetts Electrician license required
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong communication and computer skills

Pay: Up to $36.89 per hour
