Under general direction, operates a street motor sweeper in cleaning City streets and gutters in designated areas of the City; makes minor mechanical adjustments in the field, and does related work as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Drives motor sweeper on an assigned route. Makes minor adjustments along the route to chains, gears, brooms, sprinkler or other auxiliaries, reporting any breakage and the need for more complicated adjustments or repair. Hoses, cleans and greases sweeper. Fills in and submits required forms on mileage. May be assigned to operate other light motorized construction and maintenance equipment as necessary such as trucks, backhoes and skip loaders. Changes motor sweeper brooms.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Street Sweeper Operator is a specialized semi-skilled Class within the Public Works Street Division. Positions in this Class may also perform duties of a Maintenance Worker.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be a high school graduate or have an equivalent GED and one (1) year of experience in general street maintenance and construction, including the operation of motorized equipment such as trucks, tractors and skip loaders. Additional experience may be substituted for the required high school education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.
LICENSE
Must have and maintain a valid California Class B Driver's License.

Testing Process:
