CONTROL TECHNICIAN

Incumbent is responsible for the development, construction, upgrade/modification, maintenance, trouble-shooting and repair of deep well pumping systems, wastewater sludge pumping systems, constant or variable frequency drives, electric services, traffic signal control systems, street lighting systems and other motor/pump control systems for the city. May be involved in relay and control wiring for electrical substations. Other job responsibilities include on call rapid response to correct emergencies and abnormal and/or unusual operating conditions during working hours and non-working hours.

Additional Information:

STARTING PAY: $23.87 P/H

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent, (GED)
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by State of residence with current medical certificate, Must meet City’s insurability requirements.
• Two (2) years experience with electrical troubleshooting and maintaining motors and motors control systems.

Other Conditions:

• If applicant does not have a Commercial Driver License (CDL), employee must obtain with six (6) months of hire date.
• Must pass a background check.

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified Journeyman Electrician (EE-98J)
