ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
Applicants must be specific and complete in describing qualifications for the position.
BASED UPON THE INFORMATION PRESENTED ON THE APPLICATION MATERIALS, applicants possessing the most suitable qualifications will be invited to a written examination, performance examination, oral interview and/or other assessment instrument.
NOTE
Candidates who successfully complete the assessment process for Planning Technician will be placed on an eligible list for this classification, which will remain in effect for at least one year or until an insufficient number of candidates remain on the list.
Employment offers are conditional upon the successful completion of a background check. The background check will include fingerprinting, verified by the State of California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). All new hires, including non-regular City of Fullerton employees appointed to this position, will serve a one-year probationary period. Regular City of Fullerton employees promoted to this position will serve a six-month probationary period.The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires that you must be a U.S. citizen or an alien lawfully authorized to work in the United States to be eligible for hire. Education And Experience

- Graduation from high school and completion of two years of college towards an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Planning or a related field.
- One year of office or field work experience in a municipal planning or building department or a related area.
- A valid class C California Driver's License or the ability to arrange necessary and timely transportation for field travel is required. Employees in this classification who drive during the course and scope of City business will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicle Government Pull Notice Program.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs.
- 3100 - 3109, all public employees are declared to be disaster service workers and must take and subscribe to the oath or affirmation as required.
