What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Worker I - Seasonal position at City of Fruita?
SUMMARY:
This position will perform general parks, trails, and open space maintenance and repair. Position will be responsible for assigned parks and trails and will assist in other areas as needed. Work hours may vary Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with weekend hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Parks maintenance
- Landscaping, and tree planting
- Mowing and trimming
- Fertilizing and pruning
- Weeding and landscape maintenance
- Irrigating and irrigation system repair and maintenance
- Operation of heavy equipment (i.e., backhoe, mowers)
Operation of hand and power tools
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED and 6 months applicable experience. Must have a current Colorado Driver’s License and be at least 18 years of age.
Pre-employment drug testing is required.
