- Participate in, review and manage the collection and/or processing of data and the analysis of management information; identify issues and discrepancies; conduct needs analysis; project consequences of proposed actions; formulate recommendations based on findings; monitor and evaluate proposed legislation and communicate impact of regulatory changes.
- Direct and participate in the preparation, review and submittal of a variety of reports, reconciliations, work papers, communications, schedules, tables, and/or statements to and from internal departments, external agencies, financial institutions, the media and the general public regarding the county’s Tax Digest including the billing, collecting, disbursing and auditing of Property Taxes.
- Respond to requests for information and provide subject-matter-expertise and guidance to internal departments, outside agencies, financial institutions, the media and the general public.
- Examine data, information and reports for quality control purposes.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry, regulatory and legislative developments affecting accounting and financial reporting functions to ensure application to areas of responsibility.
- Monitor staff training and development to ensure they remain current with industry, regulatory and legislative developments in the field and in other areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- Five years of progressively responsible professional level accounting or finance experience at a supervisory / managerial level
- CPA or other professional certification preferred.
