Maintenance – Seasonal (Riverfront) | Parks & Recreation
Pay: $15–$17/hr
Hours: 15–30 hrs/week, flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Summary: This seasonal maintenance role with Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation provides hands-on experience maintaining facilities and grounds along the Riverfront. Incumbents will perform janitorial, groundskeeping, and minor maintenance tasks while following City safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain buildings, restrooms, grounds, and assigned areas
- Remove litter, debris, trash, and graffiti
- Assist trades crews and operate equipment safely
- Maintain work-related reports and records
- Follow safety policies and guidelines
- Drive one-ton or small utility trucks as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 18 years old, with three years of high school completed
- Effective communication skills, ability to follow instructions
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid Indiana Driver's License as required
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently stand, walk, reach, handle objects, lift up to 75 lbs, and carry up to 25 ft
- Exposure to dust, pollen, extreme temperatures, and occasional hazardous conditions
