City of Fort Wayne – Filtration Plant
Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic I
Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., may vary
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
What You'll Do:
- Inspects, repairs and maintains a wide variety of Filtration Plant, Water Pollution Control Plant and related systems and supporting facilities;
- Performs preventive / predictive maintenance tasks as required;
- Performs various maintenance work including carpentry, painting, glazing and masonry;
- Assists in plant de-sludging, Filter rebuilding, aeration tank cleaning, etc.;
- Utilizes CMMS to perform scheduled PMs and maintenance work, to record associated labor time
- and materials and to enter all necessary and applicable data;
- Utilize 6S and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).
Must-Have Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 6 months hands-on mechanical knowledge
- Obtain Indiana CDL within 18 months of hire or 18 months after turning 21 whichever comes first
- Confined Space Entry Certification
- CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
