What You'll Do
As Camp Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily operations of Franke Park Day Camp, ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-run experience for campers ages 4–17, staff, and families.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage daily camp operations, activities, and special events
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise camp staff (Assistant Supervisors & Counselors)
- Create staff schedules, assign daily duties, and facilitate weekly meetings
- Ensure camper safety, behavior management, and positive group dynamics
- Communicate professionally with parents, campers, staff, and the public
- Oversee attendance tracking, incident reporting, and emergency response
- Manage inventory, supplies, food preparation, and facility cleanliness
- Assist with budgeting, planning, and program improvements
- Inspect facilities, trails, and camp areas to maintain safety standards
Who You'll Lead
- 1–2 Camp Assistant Supervisors
- Approximately 30 Camp Counselors
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in education, recreation, environmental education, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in recreation, education, outdoor education, or similar
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills & Abilities
- Confident leader who thrives in fast-paced, youth-focused environments
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with excellent judgment and initiative
- Comfortable hiking or walking 3–5 miles per day over uneven terrain
- Able to manage large groups and handle emergencies calmly and professionally
Certifications (Required or Obtainable)
- Valid Indiana Driver's License (if operating City vehicles)
- First Aid / CPR / AED (AHA Heartsaver)
- ServSafe Food Manager Certification
