Experience Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in heavy manual labor and the use of hand and light power tools.
Minimum Education Requirements: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Department: Utilities.
Direct Supervisor: Sewer Collections Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibility: Direct (x); Indirect (x)
Primary Work Location: Work is performed primarily outdoors.
Certification: Valid State of Florida driver’s license, CDL Class B with Tanker Endorsement, and Wastewater Collections Certified Operator Level C within six (6) months of hire.
Job Summary: Semi-skilled work involving basic cleaning and maintenance of lift stations and wastewater collection systems.
Essential Job Functions
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:-
Install and repair sanitary sewer lines, lift stations, pumps, manholes, and all related facilities.

Inspect lift stations, manholes, and sewer system with video system; assist with CCTV inspections of sewer and stormwater systems.

Perform routine maintenance on wastewater collection system and lift stations.

Operate combination sewer jet truck in cleaning operations of sewers, lift-stations & storm drains.

Dig and refill ditches, loads dirt and construction materials using light to heavy motorized equipment.

Perform duties as an emergency on-call and stand-by operator/technician on a weekly rotating schedule.

Respond to emergency calls for service after-hours.

Prepare field notes and activity reports.

May be exposed to confined space entry, use of self-contained breathing apparatus, heights (up to 60 feet), depths down to 26 feet, vibrations, and poor lighting.
