Parks Cashier

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of parks management, the incumbent is responsible for collecting admission fees from pool and mini golf patrons, handling general office duties for Creekmore Pool, and working concessions at Creekmore Pool and the mini golf course.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Note: All City of Fort Smith positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees, and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Must show cooperation and respect to fellow employees and supervisors at all times.

1. Provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of his or her own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
2. Collect admission fees from pool and mini golf patrons and handle general office duties for Creekmore Pool.
3. Keep accurate records of daily admissions.
4. Answer questions and provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
5. Assist in the pool office as directed by the Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager.
6. Prepare transaction and attendance information for daily deposits and reports.
7. Perform various cleaning duties in the office and pool house, and mini golf areas.
8. Maintain professional behavior consistent with the expectations of the Parks & Recreation Department and the City.
9. Regular attendance and timeliness is required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and have previous experience handling cash transactions and making change.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The incumbent should have good verbal and written communications skills as well as good organization skills. Problem solving and analytical ability are required to perform the duties of this position. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently stand, walk, talk, and hear. Occasionally sit; use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms. The incumbent must also stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision. Depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are also necessary.

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
