POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with local, national, and international media; responds to media inquiries; pitches stories; and prepares news releases and media materials.
- Creates and edits content for press releases, newsletters, speeches, websites, social media, blogs, media kits, and other marketing and communications materials.
- Coordinates media familiarization tours, press visits, media events, and promotional opportunities.
- Plans, manages, and evaluates communications and marketing projects, including coordinating vendors, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Serves as the CVB spokesperson and represents Flagstaff through interviews, presentations, industry events, and media engagements.
- Builds and maintains partnerships with tourism organizations, community stakeholders, businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies.
- Manages the Flagstaff Film Office, including film permitting, location research, production support, and serving as liaison to the film industry.
- Oversees digital media relations, website content, social media, influencer partnerships, and online communications.
- Tracks and analyzes media coverage, campaign performance, film activity, and economic impact; prepares reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders.
- Assists with strategic planning, budget administration, and program development for media relations and film initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in public relations, media relations, journalism, communications or marketing
- Valid driver’s license
- Any combination of relevant education and relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Minimum requirements such as driver's license and certifications may not be substituted and are required at time of hire.
Desired Experience and Training
- Four (4) years of experience in public relations, media relations, film, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience coordinating with social media influencers including qualifying or vetting, and monitoring channels and handles
- Experience in the travel/hospitality industry
- Experience in the film relations industry
- Knowledge of AP writing style
- Knowledge of motion picture, commercial and still photography production industries
Other Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver’s license.
- Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid passport.
- Ability to work irregular hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) as dictated by media relations and marketing activities.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.

Salary : $61,651 - $77,064
