Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Commissioner of Public Works & City Engineer and the Water/Wastewater Commission, the Deputy Commissioner of Wastewater is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the Department of Public Works (DPW) Wastewater Division and Wastewater Enterprise Fund. The Division has 35 employees and an annual operating budget of approximately $20 million. The Division operates and maintains a 12.4 MGD wastewater treatment facility and over 140 miles of sewer collection system infrastructure, serving the City of Fitchburg and adjacent sections of the Towns of Lunenburg and Westminster.
