Part-time, seasonal employment.
The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Mini Bus Operator to provide responsible skilled duties in the transport of the participants of Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation (FCPR) and affiliated activities of the City of Fayetteville; to perform preventative maintenance and minor repair to assigned vehicles; and to provide staff support to the Parks, Recreation and Maintenance department.
Experience
Six months of driving experience and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the City of Fayetteville Driving Standard.
Training
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
Required
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Possession of a valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement; a current DOT Medical Card within 30 days of employment.
Preferred
First Aid certification; CPR certification.
Must be available to work flexible hours to include days, nights, weekends and perform duties on an on-call basis as requested.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last 4 - 6 weeks. The selection process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check, driving history check and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.

- Provide safe, efficient, dependable and courteous transportation of passengers; provide assistance in loading and unloading of passengers, luggage and equipment as needed; when applicable, operate specialized loading and unloading equipment to assist wheelchair passengers in a safe and timely manner.
- Tactfully greet passengers; answer questions and provide information to the passengers regarding rules, regulations and other information; refer sensitive inquiries and complaints to appropriate staff.
- Prepare and inspect assigned vehicle for daily operations; check and maintain fluid levels; perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs as necessary; maintain and submit pre and post-operation inspections; maintain pre and post-operation cleanliness of vehicle interior.
- Ensure safety regulations, rules and codes are enforced and obeyed by passengers in assigned vehicle; report violators.
- Maintain contact with staff and report on conditions affecting the operation of the vehicle as required.
