- Promote a positive attitude among department personnel and other contacts
- Operate various types of heavy, light, and complex equipment used in maintenance and construction (i.e. ten-wheeler trucks, backhoes, front end loaders, trenchers, crack sealers, snow plow, sweepers, etc.)
- Perform light maintenance of all equipment used for safety and efficiency purposes
- Perform skilled asphalt/concrete repairs
- Help transport construction materials such as sand, salt, gravel and dirt.
- Install and maintain street signs, prepare proper barricading for streets, water and related Public Works projects
- Deal appropriately with people in situations that may, at times, become confrontational, stressful or uncomfortable
- Deliver and pick up new and extra garbage containers, repair broken ones and maintain inventory for billing purposes
- Provide construction assistance to other departments
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; follow written and verbal instructions; establish effective working relationships with employees and the public

The “Elbow Grease” of the job:
- Frequent walking, bending and lifting (up to 50 pounds)
- Frequent stooping and/or kneeling
- Frequent exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes and noise
- Frequent exposure to vibration, environmental and/or physical hazards
- Regular attendance, some weekend, holiday and evening work are necessary
- Required to be on-call on a rotating basis and for emergency situations (staying within a reasonable response time and answering phone)

Qualifications:
To be considered you will need:
- A valid Utah Driver’s License
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within one (1) year of hire date
- One (1) year of construction or related experience
Salary : $25 - $32
