What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Worker 1 - Adaptive Helper position at CITY OF FARMINGTON?
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Under general direction of the Recreation Coordinator; assists participants with a variety of intellectual or physical disabilities for the Adaptive Program and other 1 on 1 activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
1. Follow City/Department plicies and procedures
2. Enforce guidelines, rules, and procedures.
3. Assist individual participants with activities by providing support, explaining tasks, teaching skills, etc.
4. Assist in field/court/game set up and take down.
5. Report any injries or problems to the Site Supervisor.
6. Report any issues or concerns with coaches, players, parents, or spactators to Site Supervisor.
7. Ensure the saety of staff, participants, and citizens.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Communication Skills: Work and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, contact with public presenting and defining rules; proper English usage.
Analytical Ability: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public; work independently or with other staff on assigned tasks.
