Facility Operations & Maintenance:
Oversees daily operations and maintenance of all recreation and aquatic facilities, including indoor natatorium, outdoor aquatic center, skate park, playgrounds, and support systems (e.g., lighting, landscaping, surveillance, generators).
Manages division budget for aquatics and recreation, including expense tracking, budget planning, approvals, and reporting.
Oversees cash-handling operations, enforces financial procedures, and ensures all staff are trained in appropriate money-handling practices.
Regularly evaluates budget performance and identifies opportunities for cost efficiency or revenue growth.
Facility Rentals & Reservations:
Oversees facility rental and reservation operations for aquatic and recreation spaces, ensuring policies and procedures are clearly communicated and followed.
Works with staff to process reservations, collect fees, manage deposits, and promote facility use for public and private events.

Program Development & Delivery:
Designs, implements, and evaluates aquatic and recreation programs, special events, and fitness activities to meet community needs and enhance participation.
Develops new initiatives and revenue-generating opportunities such as swim lessons, aquatic fitness classes, special events, and facility rentals.
Ensures programs are high-quality, well-promoted, and staffed with qualified instructors or contracted personnel.
Customer Service & Community Engagement:
Provides exceptional customer service by addressing patron concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience at recreation and aquatic facilities.
Oversees front-line staff to maintain professional, courteous, and responsive service across all amenities.
Promotes community engagement by supporting inclusive, accessible, and family-friendly programming.
Financial Management:
Represents the department in meetings and public presentations, responding to inquiries and promoting services.
Collect departmental content to develop the seasonal Branch Living Guide.
Manage aquatics and recreation social media content and coordinate with the Events and Marketing Division by providing relevant information and graphics.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field is preferred.
Over three years of experience in recreation and/or aquatics management is preferred.
Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a criminal background check, drug and alcohol test and a motor vehicle review.
Ability to manage and monitor work performance, including hiring, training, evaluating, and making staffing decisions for recreation and aquatic facilities.
Makes recommendations for policy development and implementation. Evaluates customer satisfaction and continuously improves services.
Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, managing special projects and complex operations across a variety of program areas.
Requires advanced technical knowledge to design and manage organization-wide programs and systems.
Oversees recreation and aquatic budget preparation and reviews/approves large expenditures.
Strong communication skills in reading, writing, and math to prepare reports, analyze financial data, and correspond professionally.
- Special Requirements:
Must be available to work evenings and weekends throughout the year.
Mobility required in both office and active field/aquatic environments.
- Licenses and Certificates:
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Current certifications in CPR with AED and First Aid are required.
Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certification is required.
