JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Recreation Aide (PT) performs a variety of tasks in support of assigned recreation facility operations; provides customer service to recreation facility patrons and the general public; responds to routine recreation inquiries; assists with recreation programming and events; participates in cleaning and maintaining assigned recreation facilities; and performs other related duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EQUIPMENT USE REQUIREMENTS:
Drives city vehicle including van and trucks.-
- Operates printer, copy machine, fitness equipment, radio and public address systems, cellular phones, copier, calculator, PC computer.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Ability to maintain routine records and prepare reports and have excellent organizational skills.-
Ability to effectively work and communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, the public, and City officials. -
Must possess great communication skills and be able to speak to the staff in a way that the message can be understood and comprehended easily and have the ability to work as a team. -
Ability to utilize a computer to produce memos, reports, and operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems. -
- Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends due to the nature of particular operational hours.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent is required plus six (6) months experience in providing recreation programs preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving record.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequent sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and reaching are required. Repetitive movement of wrist and fingers during computer data input is required. Maintains static posture during sitting. 50-100% computer use. Occasional lifting loads up to 55 lbs.; carrying 55 lbs. up to 20 feet; pushing/pulling 75 lbs.; gripping/rotating hand tools; stair/step climbing; working in outside temperatures including excess heat, cold, and precipitation.
