What you’ll do:
- Install and maintain water or wastewater lines
- Learn to operate equipment including a backhoe
- Perform maintenance on the City’s water or wastewater system
- Train on-the-job for your NM Water Operator Certifications
- Obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license and traffic control flagger certification with our help
- Within your first 16 months, obtain NMED Operator 1 certification and receive a pay increase
What we’re looking for:
- Motivated individuals who want to serve the Española Valley as part of a great team while learning a skilled trade on-the-job!
- High School graduation or GED
- NM driver’s license with a clean driving record
- 1 year of experience in a maintenance or laborer job
- (you can include your part-time work during high school, or summer work on a family farm, etc., to meet the experience requirement!)

Qualifications
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus one year experience in related field or laborer position, •Must possess and maintain a valid NM Drivers License and be insurable by City's vehicle insurance provider, •Must be willing to obtain a New Mexico Water or Wastewater Level I certification within 16 months and CDL class B within one (1) year from hire.
