What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at City of Española?
Under the supervision of the Senior Center Supervisor, Head Cook, or designee, is responsible for assisting with the preparation and distribution of meals at the Española Senior Center; assists with ensuring the facility meets all requirements for food service; assists in cleaning facility. May supervise kitchen aide and any assigned community service workers in the absence of the Head Cook.
Qualifications
• High School diploma or equivalent; • Minimum of one years experience commercial cooking as restaurant cook, short-order cook, or professional baking, or equivalent commercial training; • Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License AND be insurable by the City of Española’s auto/vehicle insurance; • Must have, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, ServSafe food manager certification or equivalent; • Experience with nutrition and commercial food inventorying desirable; • Background investigation and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening required.
