What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Crossing Guard position at City of Enterprise, AL?
The employee controls traffic at school crossings to allow children to safely cross streets. Directs traffic as needed at school sites to prevent traffic jams.
Crossing Guard Assignments
1. Turns school cautions lights on and off if available at assigned location.
2. Remains at station, ensures traffic is stopped so children can cross safely.
3. Attempts to slow drivers at crossings not following posted speed limits.
4. Takes down tag number of offenders and passes to supervisor.
5. Directs traffic at crossings to allow traffic to flow.
6. Stops traffic to assist busses coming to and leaving schools grounds.
1. Ability to effectively communicate with drivers, school children and supervisor.
2. Ability to stand and walk at assigned post for required time before and after school.
3. Ability to control traffic at assigned post.
1. Any combination of education and experience that meet the qualifications listed above will be considered.
2. Must meet the City of Enterprise physical standards which include drug and alcohol testing.
