POSITION SUMMARY
The seasonal Facilities Maintenance Technician I assists staff with all activities related to maintaining Plant grounds. This includes the operation of landscaping equipment, power tools, and hand tools. Performs entry level maintenance tasks to support the Facilities Maintenance Division.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform grounds maintenance including: planting, mowing, irrigation, cultivation, fertilization, weeding, digging, and trimming.
- Operate landscaping equipment (training provided): mower, trimmer, edger, handheld blower,
- Operate hand and power tools: rake, shovel, broom, drill,
- Pick up debris throughout the Plant
- Perform snow removal and ice control, as
- Assist Facilities staff with maintenance duties, as necessary

PREPARATION AND TRAINING
Education: High School Education or GED
Work Experience: None
Certifications and/or Licensures: None
Required Driver's License: Valid Colorado driver's license and a clear or acceptable MVR
An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant job experience may be substituted.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed primarily in an outdoor setting at a wastewater treatment facility where noise, irritants, dust, dirt, bacteria, hazardous chemicals/air/materials and fumes are present.
Works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and over all types of terrain. May be exposed to risks typically associated with working around water, chemicals, electricity and other man-made and natural hazards.
Full range of body movements including stooping, twisting, kneeling, bending, leaning, reaching, climbing, stretching, and working in awkward positions. May stand for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Colorado driver’s license and a clear or acceptable MVR.
HOURLY PAY RATE
- Facilities Maintenance Technician I - $18.00 per hour to $26.21 per hour
