POSITION OVERVIEW
The City of Elgin's Parks & Recreation department is seeking friendly and dependable individuals to work as Concessions Cashiers at the Elgin Sports Complex. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service while supporting concession operations during games, practices, tournaments, and special events. This is a great opportunity for students and individuals looking for evening and weekend employment in a fun, fast-paced, community-focused environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Operate a cash register and accurately handle cash and credit card transactions
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to established procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession stand
- Restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and fellow staff members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Positive attitude with strong customer service skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate items
- Previous cashier or food service experience is helpful but not required

Hours of Operation
Staff are scheduled within the following operating hours:
- Monday–Friday: 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
Shifts vary and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexible scheduling may be available.
