POSITION OVERVIEW
Box Office Clerk for The Hemmens Cultural Center, a City-owned and operated facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include:
- Serving as Box Office Clerk and receptionist
- Selling tickets to events using computerized ticketing system
- Preparing and maintaining files and records
- Handling cash, check and credit card transactions
- Answering box office and general facility phones
- Answering patron's questions regarding upcoming events including but not limited to: tickets, performance times and details, directions to theatre, local restaurants, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- The ideal candidate will be personable with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic accounting skills
- Service oriented and has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and electronic mail systems is required.
- Previous experience in the box office of a comparable live entertainment venue is preferred.
- Previous experience with Seat Advisor Box Office, TicketSearch and/or Theatre Manager software a plus.
- High school diploma or GED (copy must be provided with application) is required.
- Applicants must pass a background investigation, criminal history record check and drug test.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Hours: Varied, Monday through Friday plus some evenings and weekends; 19 to 25 hours per week
