- Inspects existing structures and land to identify zoning and property maintenance code violations.
- Handles an assigned case load.
- Receives and responds to complaints from the public.
- Plans an inspection route and drives to various locations around the city.
- Prepares and processes time sensitive documents including preparing written notices of violations, liens, pay-off letters and lien releases.
- Enters data into databases and maintains records.
- Performs research on property, owner and tenant information.
- Testifies in court.
- Provides education and information to the public regarding municipal property maintenance and zoning requirements.
- Performs related work as assigned.

- Must obtain a Zoning Enforcement Officer or Code Enforcement League of Arizona (CELA) certification within one year of hire.
