What are the responsibilities and job description for the City Management Fellowship position at City of Edina?
The City of Edina’s City Management Fellowship is a two-year, full-time fellowship designed to establish the necessary skills, knowledge and experience for a future in city management. The fellowship is in its 15th year, and it includes regular projects all Fellows have worked on and projects and work specific to each Fellow, depending on interest and timing. The Fellowship is open to current students or recent graduates of a master’s program in public administration, public policy, urban studies or a related field. The program requires relocation to the Twin Cities.
The program requires relocation to the Twin Cities. The Fellowship requires a minimum 15-month commitment. In the last six months of the Fellowship, the Fellow may pursue outside career opportunities with the support of the city.

Legislative Priorities
Works with the Executive Leadership Team to develop the City’s state and federal
legislative priorities. Plans local leaders’ attendance at National League of Cities
Conference, including visits with federal officials.
Budget & Capital Improvement Plan
Helps develop and prioritize the items for the City’s budget and Capital Improvement Plan.
Union Negotiations
Researches and participates in union negotiations on the management side for one
of the five unionized employee work groups.
Human Services Funding
Leads process to ensure funding allocation of approximately $170,000 annually to
human services organizations.
