Position Title: Wastewater Plant Operator Recruit
Closing Date: Open until filled
Annual Salary: $38,043.20
General Summary: Under close general supervision performs general plant duties while obtaining training in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant. Reports to the Wastewater Plant Manager
Description: Studies laboratory procedures and takes tests to become a plant operator
Obtains on-the-job training in general plant operation procedures and methods
May conduct general plant duties to include checking head works, cleaning bar screen, removing rags from tubes, cleaning weirs, and other duties assigned
Informs the Plant Manager or Lead Operator of any mechanical defects
Assists and performs the maintenance, repair and overhaul of machinery and equipment
May be required to return to work to assist with emergency management preparation, response and/or recovery activities
Performs other related work as required
Minimum Qualifications: Valid Florida driver’s license required
High school diploma required
General Computer Skills
6-11 months of experience in related field preferred
Must acquire Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator “C” within (2) years of service with the City
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
