Description

As a Recreation Technician in our Parks & Recreation Department, your role is grounded in service, effective communication, and making a positive difference every day. You’ll serve as a point person between customers, service staff, and supervisors within our recreation facilities. Under the general guidance of the Recreation Center Manager, you’ll oversee daily front desk operations and assist with marketing, administrative duties, and the implementations of goals and objectives. You’ll help lead the Guest Services team, focusing on delivering high-quality customer service while maintaining the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of programs and facilities.

Essential Job Duties

What You’ll Do in This Role:

  • Lead and manage the front desk team (cashiers and receptionists), overseeing all daily operations, staff training, and scheduling.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patrons, respond promptly to customer inquiries, and resolve a variety of customer-related situations.
  • Coordinate group reservations and oversee customer-planned activities within the facilities.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals, policies, and procedures for recreation services.
  • Monitor expenditures and participate in budget preparation for the assigned area.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of Guest Services equipment and software.
  • Assist with general administrative duties.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty on a rotational basis.

Minimum Qualifications

You Have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, leisure studies, sociology, communications, a related field, or relevant experience in recreation facilities and recreation programming.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license.

You Will Succeed in This Role If You:

  • Understand the operations, services, and programs of a municipal parks and recreation department.
  • Have experience in supervising, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Are comfortable using Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and navigating recreation management software.
