Spend the season working outdoors as a Lake Maintenance II team member and support daily operations at Lake Nighthorse from June through October. Essential Job Duties
What You’ll Do in This Role:
- Perform aquatic nuisance species inspections and decontamination on watercraft and trailers.
- Welcome and assist visitors at the entrance station and provide information about Lake Nighthorse amenities, recreation opportunities, and city attractions.
- Support admissions, recreation registrations, visitor tracking, and cash handling activities using point-of-sale systems and other computer programs.
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties for the recreation area and entrance station.
- Help maintain park grounds, docks, parking areas, restrooms, and recreation facilities through cleaning, trash removal, landscaping, and general upkeep tasks.
- Patrol Lake Nighthorse grounds by foot, vehicle, and boat to help monitor safety concerns, parking activity, and facility conditions.
- Operate tools and light maintenance equipment used for grounds and facility maintenance projects.
- Assist with recordkeeping, inventory support, and general operational tasks for the recreation area.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers and provide helpful, responsive customer service to visitors throughout the season.
You Have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One year of customer service or clerical experience involving cash handling.
- Experience working with the public in park or recreation settings and light maintenance experience are preferred.
- A valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one by the time of hire.
- The ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification and Watercraft Inspection and Decontamination certification.
- Enjoy working outdoors and adapting to changing weather and work conditions.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with visitors, coworkers, and the public.
- Can balance customer service, maintenance tasks, and operational responsibilities throughout the day.
- Take initiative, work well independently, and contribute positively to a team environment.
